Pan-European Terabit Network Provider, GÉANT, Chooses Deepfield to Provide Next Generation Network Visibility and Analytics

The Deepfield Platform Chosen Due to Ease of Use and Quality of Analytics After Side-by-Side Comparison with Other Global Players

ANN ARBOR, Mich., November 21, 2016— Deepfield, the leading provider of real-time network performance and security purpose-built big data analytics for communication service providers and large enterprises, was awarded the contract to compile the most accurate, granular and actionable network visibility analytics for GÉANT, Europe’s leading collaboration on e-infrastructure and services, and provider of the pan-European GÉANT network that together with Europe’s National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) interconnects over 50 million users at 10,000 institutions.

Deepfield’s big data platform, Singularity, ingests petabytes of network telemetry and machine data to provide next generation traffic engineering and network performance management for the effective operation of even the most complex infrastructures.

“The introduction of a platform that can provide this kind of information about the GÉANT network is critical not only for operations, but to the business as a whole,” says Rick Havern, Head of Network Engineering at GÉANT. “The detailed nature of the analytics allows product management to understand how each service performs, enables independent accounting for each business unit and helps business development to engage with the NRENs at a much deeper level by providing them granular insight into traffic usage.”

“Deepfield enables companies to delve into a sea of data and quickly analyze and view data needed to make informed business decisions. Service providers and large enterprises receive unparalleled insight into their infrastructures so they can effectively plan for geo build-outs, monitor network traffic, pinpoint outages for expedited intervention, and much more to ensure the best QoE for customers. The partnership with GÉANT further solidifies our standing as a global force in network performance management,” says Jeff Bazar, Deepfield Chief Strategy Officer.

Deepfield’s Analytics Applications Provide:

  • End-to-End Network Performance Management: See your entire infrastructure and plan for the future. Monitor ports at peak to optimize traffic flow and build outs to ensure the best QoE for customers.

  • Real-Time, Centralized Control: Singularity is the central component of the Deepfield solution and the basis for all of Deepfield's analytics and security applications. Implemented using state-of-the-art big data science methodologies, this API-driven peta-scale, software-only platform gathers network telemetry and other machine data from hundreds of sources in real-time.
